Was awesome to hear an Aussie on the show, and someone who flies older machines, not all the latest stuff, bit more relatable to the average flyer!!!

Guys at my club have me hooked on balsa. I m building a old school free flight with radio on the tail. Using a umx brick N a 30-2:30 timer for esc power n time The model used to be a 50" nitro free flight. It's a dal aire sportster. Small 2205 motor. 2s 850 with a 6x8 or 7x4. Or a 30" old playboy bmjr models can't decide. My field may decide the smaller one as I don't want to loose 20hrs of balsa in a tree. Our oldest member had me fly his recall on a 30sec burn on a rudder only and it was fun. And his tx was a rocker switch which made rudder deflect full deflection left or right elv had no dethermalizer so it was hold rudder for a sec or two n the induced drag would drop a wing n a couple feet. Right now his plane hold a 2 mile record on a 2:30 burn that sent it into a micro thermal which sent it 200' high. They chased it down with a car and sum how came back with it a hour later. We're talking about a rudder only model 😬
